Duni Group has launched a new paper-based packaging format, Sealable Ronda, designed for ready-to-eat meals such as salads, sushi, and bowl-based food concepts. Developed under its Duniform range, the solution integrates paper material with hermetic sealing and modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) to extend shelf life and improve product protection.
The packaging is engineered to address key challenges in the ready-meal segment, particularly shelf-life extension, food safety, and reduction of material usage. By enabling MAP within a paper-based structure, the bowl supports longer product freshness, which can help reduce food waste across retail and distribution channels.
Sealable Ronda is designed as a leak-resistant, tamper-evident format, offering hygienic sealing that protects contents during transportation and handling. The visible seal provides assurance of product integrity for both retailers and consumers, while also improving logistics performance through reduced leakage risks.
The solution reduces reliance on plastics and it contains more than 85% less plastic compared to equivalent plastic-based formats and delivers over 50% lower CO₂ emissions, based on internal lifecycle assessments.
The bowl is manufactured using FSC-certified paperboard and can be printed, enabling brand communication and product information directly on the pack. Its format supports both hot and cold applications and is designed for stackability and efficient in-store handling.
Duni Group positions the product as part of a broader packaging system that includes compatible films, sealing equipment, and services, aimed at improving production efficiency and enabling a more structured approach to reducing food waste in ready-meal packaging.
